Indiba Radiofrequency

Indiba radiofrequency therapy promotes healing and tissue regeneration through several mechanisms, including stimulating the production and activity of stem cells.  This enhances recovery for a quicker and better quality repair and can also be used to improve performance. Unlike any other electro-therapeutic modality, Indiba offers a limitless penetrative depth enabling the benefits to be directly applied to some of the deepest structures within the equine body.

Clinical Benefits

  • Accelerated Healing: The stimulation of stem cells and other repair mechanisms speeds up the healing process, reducing recovery time for horses with suspensory desmitis.

  • Tissue Regeneration: Enhanced stem cell activity leads to better-quality tissue repair, improving the structural integrity and function of the suspensory ligament.

  • Reduced Pain and Inflammation: By promoting a healthier cellular environment and reducing inflammation, Indiba therapy provides pain relief and supports long-term recovery.

  • Improved Performance - Indiba radiofrequency therapy supports horse performance through comprehensive mechanisms, including accelerated healing, pain reduction, improved muscle function, increased flexibility, enhanced circulation, and overall well-being. By addressing these critical areas, the therapy enables horses to perform at their best, whether in competition, training, or daily activities.

Mechanisms of Action

  1. Electromagnetic Field Stimulation:

    • Indiba therapy uses a specific frequency (448 kHz) of radiofrequency energy. This electromagnetic field interacts with the cells in the treated area, affecting cellular processes.

  2. Heat Generation (Diathermy):

    • The radiofrequency energy generates heat in the deep tissues without excessively heating the surface. This localized heat (diathermy) improves blood flow and cellular metabolism.

  3. Enhanced Blood Circulation:

    • Improved blood circulation increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the affected area, which is essential for cell proliferation and tissue repair. Enhanced circulation also helps remove waste products from the injury site.

  4. Activation of Cellular Pathways:

    • The electromagnetic field and heat stimulate various cellular pathways, including those involved in the repair and regeneration of tissues. One key pathway is the activation of heat shock proteins (HSPs), which play a critical role in protecting cells and promoting tissue repair.

  5. Stem Cell Mobilization:

    • The therapy creates a microenvironment conducive to stem cell activity. The improved blood flow and activation of cellular pathways can signal endogenous (naturally occurring) stem cells to migrate to the injury site.

    • Stem cells are then activated to proliferate and differentiate into the specific cell types needed for tissue repair, such as tenocytes for ligament repair in suspensory desmitis.

  6. Anti-inflammatory Effects:

    • Indiba therapy reduces inflammation by modulating the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and promoting the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines. A less inflamed environment is more favorable for stem cell activity and tissue regeneration.
